Juarez MX Assembly Kingdom Hall to be sold.
by ironsnake656 inthere are several confirmed announcements in some congregations around the city regarding the sale of the assembly kingdom hall.
one of the reasons why it will be sold is that expenses are not covered by donations.
the hall was dedicated in 2009. actually, in some congregations the elders have not given the announcement for the publisher's reaction... .

with Jehovah? are you sure?.
Billions claim they have a relationship with God, but none can prove it. Is it in their minds and their religious leaders just feed that belief? After all, all religious organizations have an interest in your relationship with God. God gets your prayers and devotion, and religious leaders get your money and free proselytizing labor.
Be careful!
Dedicate your life to humans. They are very, very real and needy. They need your dedication more than an all powerful invisible, silent God who has allowed thousand of conflicting religions to thrive without saying Jack.

New Research at AJWRB
by Lee Elder inthe latest research article published at ajwrb estimates the number of jehovah's witnesses who have died from following or being coerced to follow watchtower's blood policy.
the numbers are staggering.

"The act of taking blood is considered like you disassociated yourself. Same way they treat someone who joins the armed services."
That's not what the elder's book say: If you allow me to paraphrase, it suggests that if a person gets a blood transfusion but shows repentance then she/he is not disfellowshipped. It adds that the patient may have been subject to pressure.

Maybe persisting on worldly pursuits will serve good purposes: 1) do what you like and 2) lower the expectations of your aunt regarding your spirituality. Remember that one day she will insist to get baptized. Start disappointing her, so she gets used to low expectations. Just remain a good kid in every other way. In fact, be better than the "spiritual" kids.

Canada starts fight-back against bloodless surgery?
by darkspilver ini'm sure orphancrow will be able to fill in the details for us.. front page news with picture all over the canadian globe and mail newspaper today.. with major double-page spread across the whole of pages 8 and 9 in the newspaper's front section.. globe and mail, tuesday 8 august 2017.. the patient, a 70-year-old man with high-risk prostate cancer, was a jehovah’s witness.. his religion was one of the reasons he decided to undergo surgery at st. joseph’s healthcare in hamilton, home to a robot named da vinci whose steady metal hands can remove a prostate with scant risk of the blood transfusions forbidden by the man’s faith.. on a recent afternoon, the patient laid unconscious on an operating table as surgeon bobby shayegan and his team plunged a camera and three robotically controlled surgical instruments through small incisions in his abdomen.. dr. shayegan settled himself in front of a three-dimensional screen, clasped the two joysticks that controlled the tools inside his patient’s pelvis and proceeded to cut, cauterize and stitch until he freed the man’s prostate, pulling it out through one of the original incisions.. there was next to no blood.. “that was routine,” dr. shayegan said afterward, holding the plum-sized gland that he and the robot had removed together.
...in its first real ruling on a robotic surgery, the expert committee that advises ontario on which new health technologies to pay for said there was no good evidence that robot-assisted radical prostatectomy is any better than conventional open surgery when it comes to controlling cancer or preserving urinary and sexual function.. the panel said the robot’s other benefits – patients have smaller incisions, lose less blood, suffer less pain and leave the hospital sooner – were not significant enough to justify spending, on average, an extra $3,224 a case, a figure that does not include the millions that wealthy benefactors have spent buying the machines for canadian hospitals.

It's unfair to the payers of a public health system to burden them with the special and expensive care demanded by a small group of people who holds beliefs that originate in 3,000 year old rites. One more example of "how religion poisons everything"

"although compelling to those who bother to think it through"
When I read The Gentile Times Reconsidered of COJ some years ago, I became passionate about the subjects involved, especially Babylonian astronomy, because it was about using facts and evidence to uncover JW bullshit. But this business of using bullshit to uncover bullshit (interpretation of the Bible to demonstrate that JW's got the two flocks completely wrong) has never been an attractive exercise of the mind. I just have to leave the other sheep alone.

"it would be who is selling the literature, the Watchtower through an agent or would the retailer be the individual JW"
Let's not play stupid or ignorant. We know who ultimately keeps and manages the money. You are suggesting that the individual JW, after being exploited, still may have to register and file sales tax returns. The Chutzpa!!! Haven't they gone through enough??
The sales tax is always paid by the final user, never a merchant. The merchant, however, in order to be able to sell, is obligated to collect the sales tax from the sales tax payer and pass it to the government. The Watchtower gets all the money. The Watchtower must pay.

@John Davis
"As a side note, I am not sure if they would have been correct or not, but Watchtower would not have paid this tax but each individual JW would pay the tax from the donation. That would mean that each individual JW would have to register with the state board and any local agencies if a county or city also wanted to tax the literature. So each JW would have had to file a quarterly tax return and send "
NON SENSE
I collect the sales tax from all my customers. They don't have to register. I do. I pay that sales tax that I collect directly from my checking account.
Similarly the final collector of the money paid for the Watchtower merchandise is the Watchtower. They have to pay tax.
The dishonesty comes from trying to tell rank and file that they (Watchtower) decided to voluntarily give away the literature. They were forced to NO SELL. Same thing with the case in Mexico. They refused to register as a religion because it was not a financially convenient move. They wanted to own real estate. Rank and file never knew this and never will, unless they learn the truth about the truth

The most successful teaching of Jehovah's Witnesses and an amazing new book on the divine name
by slimboyfat injehovah's witnesses have had to revise their chronology and various doctrinal interpretations due to events and scholarly corrections.
but the one teaching where they have been consistently ahead of the curve is the importance of jehovah's name.. .
i'm going to run through a (necessarily selective) timeline of jw events and scholarly publications that demonstrate the phenomenal success of this teaching in the last days.

johnamos: "the sun will be turned into darkness and the moon into blood before the great and illustrious day of Jehovah arrives"
We have three of those (called eclipses) every year. I can make predictions like that every day. The difference is that my prediction will happen. Let's try:
"the sun will be turned into darkness and the moon into blood before the Summer Olympics arrives"
Talk to you in three years

Johnamos,
I knew it. It was God himself (Joshua) who killed thousands to steal their land (the promised land).
What's worse? to kill thousands or to order to kill thousands? Both are pretty bad. Don't know
